The philosophy that enables a nurse to be honest and transparent in their learning is a crucial component of the nursing ethics that serves as a guide for addressing professional dilemmas. In fact, the process of building academic integrity in the educational setting can be deemed as the key building block in structuring professional integrity and ethics of a nursing expert. After the principles of academic integrity are accepted and incorporated into one’s philosophy in the educational environment, they will be transferred into the professional context, respectively.

As a rule, the notion of academic integrity implies using correct referencing techniques when performing research and rendering another author’s ideas. Apart from teaching one to appreciate and recognize others’ contribution to the development of the scholarly discourse, it also allows to develop moral habits that will help to resolve ethical dilemmas in nursing (Devine & Chin, 2018). Maintaining academic integrity is crucial for a student of the MSN program since it will encourage personal, academic, and professional growth, preparing one to become a qualified nurse.

Thus, as a future nursing expert, one should establish a coherent ethical framework for handling moral dilemmas in the workplace, which should start with the development of academic honesty and integrity.

The Grammarly application currently takes the position of one of the best-known tools for checking the correctness of writing and the presence of plagiarism. Therefore, incorporating it into one’s toolset for quality check in academic writing may be a necessity.

Strategies for Maintaining Integrity of Work

As a nurse, one should focus on keeping the integrity of their professional activities intact. For these reasons, extra steps have to be taken to design a tool for ensuring that the quality of academic work and the honesty of its author remain consistent. While the philosophy aimed at creating original and unique work, as well as the ethical standards that will make one reference every idea taken from a different source are essential, supplementary tools will be needed.

To ensure that not a single issue remains undetected, the use of digital applications such as Grammarly and SafeAssign will have to be used in academic writing. In addition, consulting the materials provided by the writing center and the guidelines offered in the APA manual of style will be required (Suseela, 2016). By incorporating the specified elements into the system of managing problems associated with academic writing, one will reach a rather high level of academic integrity.

A combination of a philosophy that acknowledges the significance of giving authors due credit and digital tools for detecting issues in one’s academic writing, one will be able to comply with the essential aspects of ethics in academic performance. The use of the described tools will help one to not only locate and address instances of accidental plagiarism but also to evaluate one’s quality of writing. As a result, one will be capable of improving writing skills by analyzing problematic issues and creating personal strategies for managing them. Furthermore, the described steps will allow one to advance as a nurse by managing weaknesses and using strengths to one’s best advantage.
