Nursing Mentors and Role Models

Introducing the role model is essential for the career development of future nurses while cultivating particular characteristics such as confidence (Klunklin et al., 2011). I am glad that I have chosen nursing as a path for my career development. Nonetheless, I have considered dentistry as a potential career. The administrative positions remain in demand including the regulatory agency. The competition in the administrative field remains on the high level. Nonetheless, my leadership skills and the ability to meet the goals will contribute to pursuing a successful career path. As in this instance, the integration of leadership, expertise, and management tends to be the essential attributes of nursing (Marquis & Huston, 2015).

As for the application of Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, the documents provide relevant information about the nursing practices by focusing on standards and particular skills, which a nurse needs to comply with (American Nurses Association, 2010). In this instance, following these standards will contribute to the development of effective leadership skills among nurses. The ability to understand the primary standards of nursing will allow developing the right set of skills.

Lastly, mentoring is an essential attribute to nursing, and it is as old as the nursing profession (Taylor, 2014). In this instance, I will provide the best example of how to act by the standards. I will portray the primary characteristics of the leader and development and future career plan, as nursing roles are rather complicated.

The career development program has a strong impact on employee attrition, as it requires spending additional time on studies and actively preparing for the exams (Smith, 2011). Nonetheless, it allows the development of particular skills among the employees since they spend significant time on improving their competencies. Despite having negative consequences, the development program is essential due to the ability to develop necessary skills.

As for the equal employment opportunity, the participants of the program tend to have better career prospects and opportunities due to their highly developed skills and expertise. Additionally, having a particular set of skills tends to improve the quality of working practice and allows setting better career goals. Nonetheless, the development program allows improving the quality of work-life due to having well-developed skills such as leadership and responsibility (Al-Nawafleh, Zeilani, & Evans, 2013). The quality of work life is necessary, as it allows having better opportunities for future career development.

Lastly, it remains evident that the enhancement of the particular skills contributes to the increasing competitiveness of the organization among the others. In this case, skilled labor improves the expertise of the whole organization. Moreover, it allows gaining a high reputation among the other medical institutions due to the positive feedback from the patients. In the end, it could be said that the development program has a positive influence on future career prospects since the nurses tend to enhance current skills and improve the quality of living.
