Evaluating the Functionality of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Products

Introduction

Electronic Health Record (EHR) products help manage users’ information and patient care. The products control such records as billing, prescriptions, appointments, communication, and test results. Some of the EHR products include CareCloud Charts and the Advanced Data systems corporation (ADSC). Carecloud Charts provide patients care tools and clinical reporting. ADSC is browser-based and cross-platform and is accessed on gadgets (Adler-Milstein & Jha, 2017). This essay evaluates the functionality of the EHR products using five criteria: ease of use, clarity, time, cost, and support.

Ease of Use

CareCloud Charts has a simple interface where patients can check-in and fill out forms. The interface is straightforward to use since it provides all the data in real-time. This EHR product has integrated functions, such as electronic health records, practice management, and billing. The integrated system contributes to making work more manageable since the user can get services remotely. It offers a wide range of comprehensive services that are expected on the market.

Clarity

CareCloud Charts has a flexible patient portal and can be customized according to the user’s preference. The EHR product has an integrated central system that allows a single medical administration. The ADSC offers advanced features, such as the FlowText which has voice and handwriting recognition (Onyejekwe, 2019). The system can also report any irregular Medicare to the relevant legal bodies such as MACRA and APMs.

Time

The two EHR products have systems designed to save time for both the user and the administration. The CareCloud Charts save time for the user since they can quickly fill the form and get feedback from the practice. The system also saves time for administration since they can quickly give feedback to clients. The ADSC product has a mobile interface which means that the user can assess the service remotely. The administration can also give the patient quick feedback.

Support/Communication

Since health is a crucial matter, the two products provide 24-hour support to users and the administration. The CareCloud Charts, which provide all patients’ records and information in real-time, require comprehensive support. This is to ensure that the administrator can access the information quickly. The product, which has a mobile application, offers support because remote users may need to access their records at any time of the day.

Cost

The two EHR products are cost-effective and offer a practical plan for premium features. CareCloud Charts’ price is based on the level of support the users need. Because of the simple interface, most users do not require the additional cost, but they offer them training to save cost. Users can still use the product, but they must top up if they want more features (Singh et al., 2019). Since the interface is user-friendly, most users can enjoy the non-premium version and still get the best services.

Conclusion

Overall, the EHR products are user-friendly, cost-effective, and convenient for both the users and the administration. They store information and provide a solution for the users across all the medical fields. They are very secure and produce accurate information for the health care services and the Patients. The EHR mainly offers health care services to the patients at their own convenient time and place.
