The main goal of educational programs for nurses is to improve the quality of medical care for patients in hospitals’ outpatient clinics and therapeutic departments. This course focuses on the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to deliver quality care to patients, families, communities, and communities as part of a collaborative professional team. The program emphasizes evidence-based processes and strategies in a culture of safety and accountability for improving the quality of nursing care. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program describes what I was expected to achieve as a student upon successful completion of the program. First of all, it includes personalized, holistic care, based on the theories and principles of nursing and related disciplines, for individuals, families, populations, and communities, from entering the health care system through long-term planning. I understood how it is necessary to communicate with patients correctly. It is essential to effectively interact with patient groups and other healthcare providers in managing healthcare for individuals, families, populations, and communities. Since the program integrates important clinical judgment into professional decision-making and nursing, I now understand that Quality Improvement needs to be implemented as often as possible to improve the efficiency of the medical staff. It was fascinating to gain the skill of fulfilling nursing professional standards by working within the legal definitions of nursing practice.
Further education for nurses helps bring patient care quality closer to international standards. Thanks to educational programs, the level of competence of mid-level medical personnel increases, affecting the work of a single polyclinic or hospital and the entire healthcare system (Lyle-Edrosolo & Waxman, 2016). After completing the course, I can arrange for the care of severe and non-transportable patients using medical devices provided for by the procedures for medical care. Moreover, upon completion of the course, I will be able to conduct pre-medical examinations, including preventive ones, with the recording of the results in the individual card of the outpatient. In addition, I will provide and provide nursing services for patients with the most common medical conditions and manipulations alone or in conjunction with a doctor. I can also carry out preventive measures in structured and unstructured settings. Namely, carrying out preventative vaccinations or planning the organization, monitoring preventive examinations to detect diseases, and taking steps to prevent infectious diseases. As a result of the course, I can show better quality work in accordance with the established professional roles and promote Quality Improvement in my environment. As a nurse, I will carry out preventive measures prescribed by a general practitioner, keep personal records and information database of the population’s health status, and form dispensary patients.
After completing an eight-week refresher course, I feel confident that I can lead a quality assurance initiative in my environment. As a healthcare professional, I believe that this is a necessary part of the professional life of anyone who wants to continue to provide the highest quality medical services. Throughout their career, health workers are required to improve their professional skills and abilities. It is the essence of the system of continuing medical education (CME) (Kanneganti et al., 2020). Further training of nurses is a prerequisite for their admission to work in a medical institution, so it is important. Having gained new and improved existing knowledge, I have a sufficient level of qualification that allows me to influence the improvement of the quality of nursing, especially after reinforcing all the material through practice.
