Introduction
The given paper’s purpose is to reflect on the key concepts acquired in the class as well as its real-world application. Previously, I have stated my opinion on the matters, such as bioethics and trust between legislators and patients. In addition, I emphasized the importance of patient-centered care, which is essential to deliver high-quality and safe medical assistance. I also reviewed the Substance use Disorder Workforce Loan Repayment Act, which was found to be highly useful and practical, because it possesses an outstanding motivating factor to combat drug abuse issues. Over the course, I came to realize that I prefer and support the basic transformational leadership model due to its relevance in the nursing field.
The Essential
Healthcare sector employees and nurses have a certain set of standards and essentials, which are critical because they act as a guidance and professional basis. For instance, change theory is a highly effective model for various planning, evaluations, and participation among organizations. It is especially relevant in the nursing field due to the fact that we have to constantly communicate with patients (Bijani, Tehranineshat, & Torabizadeh, 2019). In addition, management roles are manifested in the notion of close relationships and emotional stability of the patient care, which are key determining factors in the process of recovery. The transformational leadership model is one of the most simplistic but powerful, and useful approaches in the nursing field. The main reason is that nurses must have strong emotional and personal connectedness with patients. The lack of communication barriers and conflicts is essential for free and unhindered information flow because small misunderstandings in the nursing field can have severe consequences for both nurses and patients (Waddell, Adams, & Fawcett, 2017). Nurse management concepts are also important due to their significance in the regulatory activities, which bring a substantial degree of coordination and cooperation among healthcare professionals.
Nursing Professionalism
It is critical to understand that there are various communication techniques, which aim to ease information exchange between patient and nurse. The methodologies might include active listening or accepting, which aim to ensure that a nurse is delivering patient-centered care. By allowing a person to speak up and communicate his or her problems, a nursing specialist reinforces a positive emotional connection, which improves the overall recovery process. For example, academic studies suggest that sensitive patients are more likely to hinder their recovery if a nurse does not provide patient-centered care (Bijani et al., 2019). Thus, it is essential for nurses to possess a clear and concise set of values, such as compassion, safety, open communication, and focus on the patient. Every nursing specialist requires a wide range of knowledge from basic anatomy to psychology, where they have to develop interpersonal communication skills.
The overall attitude among nurses should be calculated and driven by hard work. I believe I was effective at learning the program essentially because my past academic work explores highly intricate and interesting topics. However, I came to the realization that I have to learn more by educating myself not only on nursing but also in related fields, such as psychology. For example, in my academic work on the bill review, I met the essential, because it allowed me to fully immerse myself in the subject. Thus, I was able to gather more information about the given program because I am willing to participate in it.
Conclusion
In conclusion, it is important to understand that nurses have to exhibit an outstanding degree of professionalism by adhering to their core values of trust and patient focus. Nursing specialists should act as transformational leaders because patient-centered care requires clear and open communication that lacks any barriers. In addition, nurses have to gather a vast amount of knowledge in order to develop essential skills, such as effective communication and leadership. The latter plays a critical role in establishing a coordinated management process, which will allow nursing specialists to be motivated and passionate.
