Connecting theory and practice has always been a rather intricate process in nursing. Although patients do share a significant range of characteristics, each case remains unique, and each patient requires an approach tailored specifically to the needs of the patient in question. Therefore, in some cases, the connection between nursing theories and practice can seem tenuous, at best. Nevertheless, in the cardiac unit setting, the gap between theory and practice is minimal due to the rigidity of the set standards and the need to ensure that patients’ needs are addressed promptly and without any delays t prevent rapid aggravation and the ultimate fatal outcome.
Furthermore, presently, a significant gap between the exiting nursing theories and the implementation of practical tasks can be noticed. For example, the study by Daly et al. (2018) indicates that the gap between nursing research and evidence-based practice is quite large due to the lack of homogenous responses toward specific health hazards in most people. The specified assertion is further supported by the studies by Shoghi et al. (2019). Therefore, there is the necessity to introduce effective research implementation tools to connect research and theory closer, as Brandão et al.’s (2019) research outcomes confirm. For this purpose, a series of studies must be conducted to develop the framework for aligning with the set standards while attaining highly positive results.
By focusing on gaps between research and practice in the cardiac unit=, one will eb able to produce the extent fop fatal cases. Namely, the application of evidence-based research will lead to isolating additional factors that are likely to affect the participates of the communication negatively. Therefore, applying evidence-based research to the management of the key organizational issues within the target company represents an attempt at improving the quality of patients’ lives and reduce the levels of turnover among the staff.
