Clinical Nursing Administration and Education

The discipline of nursing is dynamic and always changing, with several sub-specialties that call for ongoing education and growth. The paper by Heinen and colleagues discusses the significance of nursing administration in bringing clinical nurse specialists (CNS) and nurse practitioners (NP) into systems of healthcare. According to the authors, nursing leaders are essential in ensuring that CNS and NP have the resources, lines of communication, and chances for professional growth they need to deliver high-quality care (Heinen et al., 2019). This article’s emphasis on the value of cooperation and communication amongst many nursing stakeholders for ensuring that advanced practice nurses can offer high-quality patient care surprised me.

Then, in the article by Nabolsi and colleagues, the authors explore effective teaching strategies in online nursing programs. To determine the most efficient ways to teach and understand nursing ideas in an online format, a survey of nursing faculty was conducted (Nabolsi et al., 2021). The significance of faculty support and involvement in online nursing education surprised me when I read this piece. According to the study, responsive and involved instructors were better at imparting nursing principles to their students (Nabolsi et al., 2021). This underlines the necessity of nursing faculty members maintaining their professional development to guarantee that they can successfully teach in an online setting.

Finally, the paper by Lopes-Jnior also discusses the potential for APRNs in the future of advanced practice nursing. The author highlights the value of APRNs in meeting the increasing demand for healthcare services and the necessity of giving them greater recognition for what they do inside the healthcare system (Lopes-Jnior, 2021). The possibility of APRNs filling the gap in primary care services in marginalized regions surprised me with this research. According to the author, APRNs may offer high-quality treatment in these settings and aid in reducing healthcare inequalities (Lopes-Jnior, 2021). This emphasizes how crucial it is to keep advocating for APRN practice and recognition so that they may deliver the best possible patient care.
