Problem Background
Modern healthcare requires personnel to work with large volumes of information, the analysis and organization of which can take a long time. At the same time, the use of clinical data has a significant impact on the regular care and maintenance of patients. To solve the problems associated with clinical data, it is necessary to develop a comprehensive database that will contain all the necessary information for the healthcare sector.
The project aims to solve the problem of a large amount of data that medical personnel must process. Fragmented and disorganized information can lead to difficulties, which in turn will slow down the work of doctors and endanger the lives and health of patients. One of the critical terms in this regard is the measure of quality, which is responsible for quantifying and evaluating whether standards are met (Fang et al., 2021). The imperative term is Pharmaceutical Products and Utilization, which implies that the database will need to have drug data to manage them more effectively.
Database Users and Types of Data
The first users of the database will be practicing doctors with sufficient work experience. Their competence lies in the fact that they will have to evaluate the information provided to use it effectively in delivering medical services. In addition to them, information management specialists should have access to the database (Fang et al., 2021). Their competence is the information security that they will have to provide. The proposed database will collect information on diseases, demographics, medications taken, and laboratory tests.
For analysis, a report will be created to provide data on the effectiveness of the chosen strategy, including treatment results. The second report can focus on quality improvement, providing critical data on the clinic’s work. Another report is on drug interactions, which means that doctors will be able to learn about allergies or any other adverse reactions patients may have to certain drugs. Practitioners will use these reports to improve services.
Project Goals
In the field of medical practice, data management is crucial for enhancing patient care (Fang et al., 2021). The project’s key objectives are to develop a centralized health database and enhance the quality of care and medication management. The primary objectives for a database are to launch a prototype within six months and to monitor the work of doctors using the database for three months. Additionally, it is necessary to reduce the occurrence of side effects by 20% and to create three reports throughout the experiment. To achieve the goals and objectives, the main steps include collecting requirements, hiring technical specialists, designing a database, entering data and testing, and creating performance reports.
Potential Problems and Data Communications Protocols
When implementing a project, difficulties may arise in the form of data confidentiality and protection, employee resistance to organizational changes, data accuracy, and integrity. In this regard, it can be assumed that an accurate check of the security system will be necessary, as it is a significant component of the database’s functioning. Additionally, it will be necessary to establish corporate ethics and ensure that the data entered is accurate.
To achieve this, protocols such as decentralization, immutability, and interoperability can be utilized in the database project (Fang et al., 2021). Blockchain technology will enable the implementation of these protocols, ensuring the complete protection of data from hacking, theft, or unauthorized modification.
