Breast Cancer and Its Development Process

A diverse set of illnesses known as cancer develop when abnormal cells in the body proliferate and spread out of control. It is a huge global health issue and is to blame for a large number of fatalities each year. This essay will look through the process of cancer development, the cellular origins of the disease, risk factors, and ways to prevent it, as well as its warning signs, symptoms, and therapies.

Breast cancer is a disease in which mutations cause normal cells to grow uncontrollably and form a tumor. The majority of cases stem from glandular tissue responsible for milk production, known as ductal carcinomas, however, lobular carcinoma can also be affected occasionally. Age, gender, genetics, and lifestyle are all variables that can trigger the growth of tumors (Sargsyan, 2020). Women over the age of 50 are at a higher risk, with gender being a significant risk factor as well (Sargsyan, 2020). Furthermore, genetics can also play a role, especially for those with a family history of the disease and those with BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutations.

There are actions and strategies that can help lower the risk of acquiring breast cancer, even if the disease cannot be prevented. Frequent breast cancer screening, which may include mammography and clinical breast exams, can aid in the early detection of the disease and its most curable stages (Sargsyan, 2020). Women should be aware of any changes to their breasts and notify their healthcare physician right away. A healthy lifestyle can also reduce the chance of breast cancer: eating healthy, avoiding alcohol, and maintaining physical health are steps that will markedly help with it.

There are many clear signs of a cancerous tumor in the breast. The most prominent symptoms are changes in the shape of the breast, the color of the skin of the breast, the discharge of fluid from the nipples, and pain in the chest (Sargsyan, 2020). However, some women with breast cancer may not experience any symptoms at all. If breast cancer is discovered, there are treatment choices (Britt et al., 2020). The patient’s general health, the size and location of the tumor, and the cancer’s stage all affect the course of treatment for breast cancer.

Many methods have been developed to fight cancer: surgery, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormone therapy, each of which has its characteristics. In order to remove the dangerous tumor and surrounding tissue, surgery is frequently the first course of treatment for breast cancer (Sargsyan, 2020). The next step in the fight against cancer is chemotherapy, which has a significant effect on stopping the development of a cancerous tumor. Targeted therapy is a method in which a person takes drugs that destroy only cancer cells (Britt et al., 2020). Cancer cells respond to the appearance of hormones, which has been proven during the treatment of women for breast cancer using the hormone therapy method.

In conclusion, breast cancer is a complex disease that puts human life at great risk. Age, gender, genetics, and manner of life are a few variables that can affect the development of breast cancer. Due to the fact that breast cancer can go through several stages, early detection is essential for a successful course of treatment. Even though breast cancer cannot be prevented, the risk of developing it can be reduced through actions and treatments like routine breast cancer screening and healthy lifestyle choices. The choice of treatment relies on the stage of the tumor and other factors.
