Automation as Quality Improvement in Healthcare

The healthcare system is affected by numerous challenges that risk patient safety. In most cases, the level of care provided to patients is influenced by the facility’s leadership, the time taken for patients to access care, the skills and knowledge of the staff, and challenges in the systems used. Due to such issues, there is a need to develop strategies that could be used to enhance the care delivery process. Automation of the healthcare system is a strategy that can be used to enhance the quality of care given to patients.

Most healthcare facilities have not automated their systems leading to slow care delivery processes as most patients have to go to different departments for different reasons. Such aspects have made it challenging, especially in emergency and discharge processes, since some information has to be captured manually (Richesson, 2020). Using an automated healthcare system can be highly beneficial in my current healthcare practice since it can enhance patient management, increase efficiency and enable fast retrieval of patient data (Richesson, 2020). An automated healthcare system is a tool that can make efficient and fast service delivery in healthcare.

Integrating quality improvement in the healthcare system can lead to improved leadership. Such strategies enable smooth and effective operations within the facilities leading to the development of fem employee issues (Richesson, 2020). Quality management and leadership are two aspects that go hand in hand, as leadership forms the backbone of any organization’s improvement strategy (Richesson, 2020). Due to this, the assimilation of quality improvement services provides an effective internal environment that makes leadership easy.

In conclusion, quality management strategies are effective tools that enhance the care delivery process in the healthcare system. Mechanisms like the automation of the healthcare system play a critical role in the enhancement of patient management, increase in efficiency, and fast retrieval of patient data. Such processes create a conducive working environment with minimal data errors, enhanced staff coordination, and reduced conflicts. Due to this reason, the assimilation of quality strategies makes leadership easy as all tasks become highly coordinated.
